SEATTLE - State law does not bar teachers from having sex with 18-year-old students.
That's the decision of a three-judge panel of the Washington Court of Appeals, which on Tuesday ordered the dismissal of a case brought against Hoquiam High School's former choir teacher. The teacher, Matthew Hirschfelder, was charged with first-degree sexual misconduct with a minor.

The teacher-student relationship is like that of boss and employee, doctor and patient, or any other individual who holds economic, legal, or pyschological power over another individual. No matter how subtle it is, a sexual relationship in NOT APPROPRIATE. I do not care if the student is 18. Whether Mr Hirschfelder wants to admit it or not he had all the power in that relationship, and should have known better.
This means your kids are fair game at school now, to be preyed upon by teachers who can not control themselves... This is just great....... the great state of Washington.......

I saw this on the news last night...VERY disturbing! What the heck is wrong with people?!? Why the #$%@ would you want to have sex with CHILDREN that you TEACH?!?
This IS horrible. I hope it's a wake up call. The situation is not a heck of a lot better at colleges.. Speaks to teaching our children and covering them in prayer!
